What Happens Next?
So you’ve decided that Sports Therapy is something you could benefit from, but what happens next? We often find that people put off getting treatment because they aren’t sure what’s involved in started, even if that means their problem could get worse, so here’s what to expect after you send us a message…
1. Client Consultation
Step one, is getting to know you. So, what are your goals and what do you want to achieve? This initial consultation takes place over the phone to discuss your pain, and gain everything we need to know about you. Following the phone call, you’ll receive a face to face consultation at Faultless Fitness where we investigate and assess your injury in more depth and discuss what we can do to help.
2. Acute Treatment Begins
This is also known as the start of your treatment phase. Main acute treatment is sports therapist lead and performed, for example through the use of massage and other techniques. This phase is to reduce pain and increase range of motion in and around the injured limb to prepare you for rehabilitation.
3. Rehabilitation Starts
This is where strength and conditioning is vital in getting closer to your goals. Here we should find pain has already reduced and range of movement has improved, so we can start strengthening the fundamental muscles that support not only your injury, but surrounding muscles as well, to improve your quality of life.
4. Recovery Nutrition Introduced
Most clients disregard the need for a balanced nutritional diet, but nutrition is one of the main components in preventing an injury recurring or another injury arising. In order to prevent injury, the essential macronutrients you need to be consume at the correct proportions are all taken care of in our Nutrition System. This is introduced in an easy to understand way, which makes changing the way you eat simple and sustainable!
I started at Faultless Fitness in September 2020 after graduating from University of Worcester with a 2:1 in Sports Therapy. I was especially interested in the rehabilitation module during my degree because it can be used in so many ways, from personal training to injury prevention. It really helped increased my depth of knowledge in this area in particular.
I starting swimming at young age, and as I grew older, I became a competitive swimmer and love being in the water. During my sporting career, I experienced an injury to my lower back which stopped me from even doing my normal daily activities, let alone swimming. I went and saw an NHS physiotherapist, but unfortunately, they didn’t help fix the problem. Still experiencing pain, I decided to go to a private physiotherapist to eliminate my pain completely with only a maximum of a month of weekly treatments. Seeing how thorough the physio was with my injury lead me to realise that I wanted to do the same thing and help people like me achieve a pain free and active life – I haven’t looked back since!
The most rewarding part is seeing clients go away with a completely different outlook and quality of life.
“I suffered with soulder pain for several years with little relief and after just four sessions my movement is 100% better and I have next to no pain”
“I’ve had a couple of massages after suffering with shin splints and extremely tight calves. Faultless sorts the issue out every time”
“I used to suffer from back problems, in fact I used to take regular pain killers, but now I have had no back issues for 18 months!“
