Having been a runner for a number of years, and having completed numerous half marathons, 10k, trail run events, a marathon, and more recently some sprint triathlons, I felt something was missing! Namely a lack of power and strength. Like lots of ladies, my upper body and core strength were severely lacking.
I knew if I could improve on this, not only would my times improve, but I’d actually enjoy future events too! I’d lost my mojo, and my training was inconsistent. I’d tried ‘bodyburn’ kind of classes to try and build strength, but they simply bored me, they felt random and I was not seeing results.
I’ve been with Faultless Fitness for four weeks, and I could not be happier. It feels as if I have a solid plan in place, one which will absolutely get me the results I want. I know why I’m doing each session, and what I’m trying to achieve. Already my weights for some exercises have increased, as I’m getting stronger.
I’ve always wanted to try weights but didn’t know where to start, and would not dream of rocking up to a ‘normal’ gym and trying them, firstly because it would be very obvious I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, and secondly I would feel massively intimidated. At Faultless Fitness though, I’ve never felt embarrassed about asking for anything, and I’ve always felt fully supported.
Pull ups especially are something I’ve always wanted to be able to do, as these epitomise upper body strength to me, but never did I ever think I’d be able to achieve even one, or know where to even start! I still haven’t got there, but every week I feel closer to that goal. Every week I’ve feel myself getting stronger and I know I will get there.
I’m looking forward to an event in October, which I did last year, but didn’t particularly enjoyed as I struggled, and my times were not great either. Now I’m looking forward to returning this year and absolutely smashing it!
